About Me
Hello! I'm Vicki Boyles - the hands and heart behind Boyles Handmade. I work from a small studio in a quiet corner of Andalucía, Spain, surrounded by the beauty of olive trees, mountains, and sweeping views of the sea. It's the kind of landscape that invites you to slow down and pay attention - to materials, to process, and the simple act of making.
Boyles Handmade began with textiles. My earliest work was sewing fabric accessories and tote bags, rooted in function and everyday use. It was through a custom request - a textile bag with leather handles - that I was first introduced to leather. That single project changed everything. I began incorporating it more and more, eventually moving into wallets and small leather goods, and I haven't looked back since.
Today, my work focuses on thoughtfully crafted leather goods, with textiles remaining a meaningful part of my foundation. My goal remains the same: to create timeless, useful goods - simple in design, purposeful in form, and built to last.
Much of my inspiration comes from everyday life here in southern Spain. The striped canvas awnings used to shade homes from the hot sun, the ceramic tiles of Granada, and traditional Fajalauza patterns, and familiar regional motifs - flowers, birds, and the pomegranate - often find their way into my work. Even subtler influences appear, like lunares (polka dots) seen in flamenco dresses. These elements show up quietly through block printing and hand-painted details on both leather and textile pieces.
Every piece that leaves my workbench is made by hand, one at a time - from selecting the materials to the final stitch. I work slowly and deliberately, without shortcuts. It's not about producing more, but about making something real, something meant to be used, carried, and lived with.
I work exclusively with full-grain, vegetable-tanned leather, chosen for its durability and the way it develops character over time. These materials tell their own stories through wear and use. There are no trends here; just dependable pieces that feel good to hold and grow better with age.
The pomegranate in my logo is a quiet nod to place. Granada translates to "pomegranate" in English, and the symbol is woven throughout this region - from tiles and tapestries to city crests and street signs. It felt like a natural way to tie Boyles Handmade to southern Spain and the province of Granada, where I live and work.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you find something that speaks to you, whether it's a new wallet for yourself or a one-of-a-kind piece to be gifted. Everything is made with care, designed to last, and built to be used.
Thanks for being here.
It means more to me than I can say that something made with my own two hands might become part of your story and an heirloom in your journey.
Warmly,
Vicki Boyles
