Laced Tote - Cognac Leather

A tote with zero thread.

This tote is built by connecting two pieces of leather entirely through lacing; hand-punched holes with matching lacing is woven in and out, with gusset flaps on the exterior to add structure and visual interest.  The closure tab is riveted to the back, wrapping over the top with a solid brass button stud. Its practical, clean design will age gracefully. Handmade in Motril, Spain.

What it's made from:

Warm, cognac vegetable-tanned leather throughout. It deepens and grows richer over time. The unlined, raw leather interior means you see the quality of the material, which is intentional - not a shortcut. Over time, everything ages together, becoming more striking and more yours.

How it lives with you:

The lacing will develop character, and the body will deepen. The solid brass hardware will age. The handles will show where your hands have been. This robust little tote is designed to bear the brunt of use. It's not meant to stay perfect; it's meant to be a record of how you carry it.

Natural marks and deepening richness over time are part of its design. Every element ages beautifully together - the body, the lace, the handles, the hardware. After only a short time, it will be unmistakenly yours.

Your piece is made when you order it - made for you. Production time: 2-3 weeks. 

Care:

Condition occasionally with a quality leather balm. Avoid prolonged water exposure and extended time in direct sunlight. Some darkening from daily use and light exposure is natural and desired. As you use your tote, the leather will gradually relax and become more supple while maintaining its structure. The lace is strong and taught and will become more integrated into the character of the bag as it ages.
